Principal's Message
Together with our teachers and staff I want to welcome our students and school community to Baywood Elementary School. The beginning of the school year is an exciting time for students, staff and families. Baywood staff members are working hard to ensure a fantastic start to the 2022-23 school year.
As I enter my seventh year of serving as an administrator at Baywood I am incredibly grateful for and humblied by the opportunity to accompany, support and serve staff, students and families. I look forward to seeing you all on the first day of school.
At Baywood students develop many academic skills such as a learning to read critically and write in their own voice, how to think like scientist, and become acquainted with the world's man regions, customs and history. Students develop a growth mindset and emotional intelligence, create beautiful pieces of art, perform musically and learn much about physical fitness and wellness.
Additionally, students learn what it means to be responsible and respectful people - good citizens of our school and community and kind, loving, inclusive friends.
This year we will focus on the following goals:
Goal 1: Create learning opportunities for ALL Pre K through 8th grade students resulting in closing the achievement gap and culminating in person and academic success in high school and beyond.
Goal 2: Reduce inequitable outcomes for ALL students and staff by prioritizing equity, access and inclusion.
Goal 3: Provide a safe, caring, nurturing and culturally responsive environment for ALL students to meet the needs of the whole child.
It is an honor to be a part of your child's elementary school experience. All of us at Baywood are grateful for the opportunity to teach, nurture and care for all students and families.
Warm regards,
Amanda Ginn Driscoll
