Eureka! You’ll strike it rich in the fourth grade while learning all about California’s history. From the missions to the gold rush, you’ll immerse yourself in the history of our state. You will even have the opportunity to tour the old mining town of Columbia and to pan for gold while visiting the Sierra Outdoor School. Sparks will fly when you learn about magnetism and electricity during science. Discovering which minerals make rocks will make you bubble like calcite!
Along with visiting Sierra Outdoor School and the mining town of Columbia (www.sos.cusd.com -click on “Gold Rush,”) fourth graders explore different ecosystems at the Academy of Science, observe sea elephants at Ano Nuevo, and make adobe bricks at Rancho Sanchez Adobe.
Fourth grade uses the new enVision math program. Students can login to the website from home and access the lesson’s daily video, the student text book, along with games and enrichment pages.
